Crafting of cane chairs

Cane chair making is a complicated craft which entails a lot of experience and deligence. Cane chairs are light and can easily be transported in contrast with the other type of wood that is use nowadays. This type of furniture making involves intricaate patterns crafted to suit taste.
Cane is a type of wood got from bamboo wood. Cane is extremely long and durable. Cane can be used in building houses, baskets, carriers, chairs, cups, spoons, and even plates. Cane is also used as firewood in burning.
In some parts of Africa cane is used for putting salt. Cane thus symbolizes a unit of measurement for these people. For example within the Kom people of the Nort west region of Cameroon, cane has many uses. Cane is used by them as a carrier basaket. These people grow corn in far away areas that is not motorised. So during harvesting the women therrefore buy these cane baskets in order to put their corn inside and carry home. When the cane baasket is manifactured, ropes are connected to them allowing for for wings . These wings could be put either in the head or the arms so that it ppears attached to the body. Once corn is put inside the cane basket it is then put to the back of the body where either a bamboo stick can be used or arms and the head is use to carry. When cane baskets are carried this way walking is quite easy. This also allow for flexiblity in case of falls so that a person can have the use of her hands tfor support or holding on to something else.
